An assault suspect convinced cops to let him use a toilet after he was handcuffed at a Greenwich Village building Wednesday evening — and slipped out a second door of the restroom that the officers didn't know about, sources said.
The suspect was arrested at about 8:30 p.m. at the apartment building at 24 Fifth Ave., according to the sources.
He apparently was familiar with the layout of the restroom and used it to his advantage.
He made it out to the street and began running up Fifth Avenue wearing nothing but sweatpants and the handcuffs, according to witnesses.
The unidentified suspect didn't get very far.
He was rearrested 10 minutes later when the K9 unit found him shivering in the cold a few blocks away.
The daring suspect was taken to the Sixth Precinct station house, where he was awaiting charges late Wednesday night.
