The world's first 3D-printed car has arrived!
Arizona-based manufacturer Local Motors are the masterminds behind The Strati — a 49 part, battery powered automobile that can fit two people and only takes 44 hours to build, Barcroft Media reports.
The vehicle that could one day become the standard for cars in the future is made entirely of black plastic and reinforced carbon fibre. It was printed during the International Manufacturing Technology Show earlier this month in Chicago.

"We are the first company to make a 3D-printed car using carbon fibre-reinforced thermoplastic," said Local Motors CEO John Rogers.
The printer used to spawn the whip of the future was provided by machine tool maker Cincinnati Inc., according to Barcroft.
The tires, wheels, battery, wiring, suspension, electric motor and window shield of the Strati — which is Italian for "layers" — were made using typical car manufacturing methods.
"We had confidence that we had a fabulous piece of machinery and we had a fabulous team and it really all worked perfectly in the end which was really fabulous," said Cincinnati spokesman Rick Neff. "This whole project has been one of the most exciting things I've gotten to do in my career."
Neff admitted that was a team effort and The Strati couldn't have been developed and created without the help from everyone involved.
"I was originally thinking that a handful of people really pulled this off, but it was really probably hundreds of people that actually contributed to this project and made it happen and if any one of those hundreds of people did not step up, we would not have this success," he said.
Local Motors plans to sell the groundbreaking cars in the near future for around $14,000.
