Shia LaBeouf slashed face, had tooth pulled for ‘Fury’

Shia LaBeouf will do anything to get into character.

The 28-year-old's "Fury" co-star, Logan Lerman, told British GQ (via E! News) that LaBeouf even slashed his own face to look more authentic for the war film.

"We were in make-up and they were putting cuts on Shia and I said, 'Yeah, yeah, it looks good,'" recalled Lerman, 22. "And Shia was like, 'No it doesn't look real.'"

He continued, "Then he walks out into the hallway and says, 'Hey man, wanna see something fun? Check this out…' and he takes out a knife and cuts his face. And for the whole movie he kept opening these cuts on his face. That's all real."

The young actor seemingly applauded LaBoeuf's commitment. "I f—king love it!" he quipped.

To further convince audiences of his dedication to his character, LaBeouf also had a tooth removed. He tweeted photographic evidence back in May 2013.

"He did go to a dentist and asked them to pull his tooth out, but yeah, what an odd request," said Lerman.

Brad Pitt also sung LeBeouf's praises.

"Oh, I love this boy," Pitt gushed. "He's one of the best actors I've ever seen. He's full-on commitment, man. He's living it like no one else, let me tell you."
