With their trial and sentencing behind them, Teresa and Joe Giudice have parted ways with their lawyers.
"There is no need, their lawyers' job is done," Wendy Feldman, the couple's legal crisis consultant, told E! News.
Moving toward Teresa's surrender date — January 5, 2015 — the couple is seeking a new kind of counsel.
"Right now, all they need is a conviction expert, which is what I do," explained Feldman. "They will not appeal the case. As part of their plea agreement, they can't."
Feldman says it's too early to know where exactly Teresa, 42, will serve her 15-month sentence.
"Normally, the Bureau of Prisons does not notify you until two weeks before you surrender," she said. "It all depends where there is capacity at the time."
The "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star and her husband, 42, who received a 41-month sentence, told Andy Cohen in a tell-all interview on Monday that their lawyers didn't do the job they intended.
"I thought my lawyer was going to fight for me," said Teresa.
"I mean, that's what lawyers do. I don't know," she followed up. "That's why you hire an attorney. You put it in their hands. I mean, whatever they wanted from me—believe me—I followed their direction. Whatever they wanted, I gave them. I'm not trying to hide anything. Whatever I needed to do, I would have [done]. After I left court, I left court. I never spoke to my attorneys. It was done. The judge made a decision."
