We’ve reached the point of the Royals talking smack

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Giddy over the Royals winning the first two games of the best-of-seven Saturday night against the Orioles in Baltimore, reserve outfielder Jarrod Dyson predicted Camden Yards had hosted its last baseball game of the year.

"No, sir, I don't,'' Dyson said when asked if he thought the ALCS would go back to the Inner Harbor for a possible Game 6. "And I don't think they think that way, either.''

Orioles center fielder Adam Jones refused to get into war of words with Dyson, but did say, "He doesn't speak for this clubhouse.''

O's manager Buck Showalter wasn't aware of Dyson's words. After they were relayed to him, Showalter said Dyson had a right to be cocky.

"Why wouldn't he feel that way? If I played the way they played the last couple of games I might feel the same way,'' Showalter said.
