Nicole Kidman: ‘I hope every month that I’m pregnant’

Nicole Kidman is eager to expand her family.

"I hope every month that I'm pregnant, but I never am. I would be jumping for joy if it happens," the actress told Australia's Kiis 1065 on Friday.

But the Oscar-winning actress is aware that her age could make things difficult. "I'm 47, it won't happen," she added.

Kidman adopted Connor, 19, and Isabelle, 21, with ex-husband Tom Cruise and went on to have two kids, Sunday, 6, and Faith, 3, with current husband, Keith Urban.

Host Jackie O brought up a friend who's pregnant at 49, which delighted Kidman.

"That's incredible, what a fabulous thing!" Kidman raved. "My grandmother had her last baby at 49 so you never know. I'm baby crazy. I love babies… kids, they are extraordinary."

Despite her enthusiasm for a new bundle of joy, Kidman says her husband wouldn't be excited. "He might not be jumping for joy," she added.

The interview took a solemn turn when the topic changed to Kidman's late father, Dr. Antony Kidman, who suddenly died in Singapore in September after falling in his hotel room.

"We have the tightest family, we really do," she said tearfully. "Now I'll get upset … I have to say, so many people did reach out, it's the greatest thing. I used to be like, 'Oh, I don't want to intrude, it's awkward,' and now having been on the other side of it, it's so beautiful when people do it. A card or call or anything, it really does [mean a lot]."
