Toni Collette shaves head to play cancer patient

Toni Collette debuted a bold new 'do at a photo call in London for her upcoming film "Miss You Already."

The 41-year-old Australian actress, who normally wears her blond hair long, went completely bald for the film, in which she plays a cancer patient.

She displayed a broad smile as she embraced fellow "Miss You Already" co-star Drew Barrymore, 39.

The two play best friends whose lives take dramatically different directions after Barrymore's character, Jess, begins a family while Collette's character, Milly, battles breast cancer.

At the photo call, Collette also displayed her support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is October, by sporting a pink ribbon.

The Catherine Hardwicke directed film is expected to hit theaters in 2015.
