Gamblers with money on the Jets weren't happy with the way the final moments of Sunday's 31-17 loss to the Broncos played out.
When the Jets took possession with less than a minute remaining trailing 24-17, they appeared a cinch to cover the 9 ¹/₂ -point spread, and still should have when Geno Smith was sacked by Von Miller and Derek Wolfe for what appeared to be a safety.
Instead, officials placed the ball just outside the end zone, giving Smith and the Jets another chance. On the next play Smith threw the ball right to Broncos corner Aqib Talib, who dove, caught it, hopped up and ran 22 yards for a touchdown with 15 seconds left to seal both the win and the cover for the Broncos.
