Bernie Madoff reveals his political hit list

Convicted Ponzi kingpin Bernie Madoff doesn't care much for politicians – and President Obama, Hillary Clinton, Sen. Chuck Schumer, Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Mayor Bill de Blasio top his list of hated hacks, according to his latest jailhouse interview.

The 75-year-old scammer unloaded on the pols in a wide-ranging talk with Politico, saying all they cared about was money and that he grew weary of their "never ending" requests for campaign cash when he was still riding high.

"These politicians take money from anybody — Democrats, Republicans," he said in what he described as his fifth jailhouse interview since he pleaded guilty in 2009 to swindling hundreds of millions from clients.

"I basically think everybody would be better off… if people weren't able to exert so much influence on politicians with money."

Schumer, a "personable guy," according to the fraudster, would hit him up for dough twice a year or so.

"They would come up [to Madoff's office] just to say hello and collect the money," he said from the medium security prison in Butner, North Carolina, which he likened to a college campus.

Politico said they approached Schumer to talk about Madoff's remarks – but that the usually media friendly Dem turned frosty when Madoff's name was mentioned and refused comment.

Schumer returned money donated by Madoff after the Ponzi scandal broke.

The scammer also said he doesn't think Hillary would make a good president.

"I certainly wasn't impressed with her as secretary of state. Our foreign policy is a mess," he cracked.

Madoff also said he was "terribly disappointed" by Obama even though he voted for him in 2008.

"His policies are too socialist," he said.

About de Blasio, Madoff remarked, "I'm not a great fan of redistribution of wealth."

And asked about Gov. Christie and the scandal over lane closures on the George Washington Bridge, Madoff replied, "It looks like a circus."

The former financial titan also denied reports that he suffers from kidney cancer, but admitted that he takes about 15 pills a day for various medical maladies, including anxiety.

He lamented being ostracized by his family, whining that "I don't have anything to live for."

And he claimed that several former employees facing charges in federal court in Manhattan for their alleged roles in his scheme were innocent dupes who knew nothing of the massive fraud.

He also apologized to those he let down – but insisted he is not a bad person when asked if he had changed.

"There's nothing for me to change from. It's not like I ever considered myself a bad person. I made a horrible mistake and I'm sorry."

Madoff told Politico he has dreams in prison of a fantasy life far beyond his 8-by-10 foot cell.

"I would go find myself an island somewhere with my wife, if she were willing to, and go fishing," he said.
