Mets will host slain cops’ families at spring training

The Mets are taking the families of two slain NYPD officers out to the ballgame.

The team is flying relatives of Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu — who were killed execution style in December — to experience spring training in Florida this weekend, sources told The Post.

Ramos' wife, Maritza, sons, Justin, 19, and Jaden, 13, will join Liu's widow, Pei Xia, mom, Xiu Yan, and dad, Wei Pang, in Port St. Lucie as the Mets' guests.

The baseball adventure will begin Thursday and last through the weekend. Justin and Jaden will even be outfitted in their very own personalized uniforms and serve as bat boys for a handful of preseason home games.

The long weekend getaway is the brainchild of Mets third baseman David Wright, who pitched the idea when he chatted with Ramos' sons around Christmas time.

Wright, whose dad was a police officer in Virginia, reached out to the Ramos boys after he heard they were avid fans of the Amazin's.

The All-Star is even expected to wine and dine the families one night, a source said.

"The whole family are big Mets fans, especially of David Wright," a source close to the Ramoses told The Post. "They're really looking forward to this trip."

A friend of the Lius said the family is "very grateful" to the Mets for continuing to remember them.

"Although they're not big baseball fans, they are looking forward to going down to Florida and seeing another part of American culture," the friend said.

The Mets are scheduled to play the Atlanta Braves, Washington Nationals and Boston Red Sox this weekend.

Liu and Ramos were ambushed in their squad car in Brooklyn by Ismaaiyl Abdullah Brinsley, 28, who committed suicide after the slaying.

Brinsley had taken a bus to the Big Apple after he shot his ex-girlfriend at her Baltimore apartment.

He posted on Instagram that at he was going to put "wings on pigs" after becoming out raged over the death of Eric Garner, who was fatally choked by police on Staten Island last year.
