A staffer for City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito is a brute to his 3-year-old autistic son and ex-girlfriend, the woman claims in court papers.
Esteban Duran, who works as a community liaison for the speaker and tried to unseat then-Assemblyman Vito Lopez as Democratic district leader in 2010, pleaded to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct in August 2013 after Diana Torres accused him of assaulting her and their then-1-year-old son.
Torres, 36, told police Duran, also 36, grabbed their son Daniel's arm and pushed his stepdaughter into a wall in July 2012, records say.
In November 2012, Torres accused Duran of pushing her while she was holding Daniel and said he then grabbed the boy's arm, causing the child to bleed.
Duran's record was sealed in 2014 because he stayed out of trouble for a year, but Torres, a midwife at Jamaica Hospital, has an order of protection against him.
Torres is fighting Duran's push for court-ordered visitation, claiming Daniel has come home with bruises and burns after seeing his father.
"I'm terrified," Torres told The Post on Monday.
"My son comes home with bruises. My son got a second-degree burn and . . . nothing is happening."
Two probes by child-welfare officials cleared Duran.
The $60,000-a-year staffer has temporary visitation with his son every other weekend.
"When Daniel returns home from visitation, he is upset and withdrawn," Torres said in a December affidavit.
A school psychologist said in a report dated last spring that Daniel "has difficulty separating from his mother" and is often anxious.
Torres worries Duran has used his political connections to block a full probe.
In a March 2014 letter to the city Department of Investigation, she said, "Duran might have asked his personal friends to intervene."
Duran told The Post, "I think this is wrong that you're doing a story on this." He referred questions to his attorney, who declined to comment.
In a transcript of a December proceeding in Brooklyn Supreme Court, a psychologist calls Duran a good dad.
The doctor, Steven Demby, expressed concern that Torres overfed Daniel and took him to too many doctors.
Calls to Mark-Viverito were not immediately returned.
