A celebrity lawyer who has represented Donald Trump and sued Martin Scorsese has filed a $275,000 lawsuit in Manhattan against a European art dealer, claiming she stiffed him on legal fees for the sale of a Monet painting.
Aaron Richard Golub, who also produced the Edie Sedgwick biopic "Factory Girl," was hired by art dealer Judith Hess last November to negotiate a commission for Claude Monet's 1908 "Nympheas," the Manhattan Supreme Court suit says.
Hess — who has been romantically linked to Prince Andrew — got her $1 million fee around Dec. 8, the suit says. But she repeatedly denied it to put off the legal fees, papers say.
Golub is suing for his $25,000 fee plus $250,000 for Hess' "bald-faced lies, misrepresentations, malice and abuse," papers say.
The sale was private, so buyer and seller weren't disclosed. But a similar Monet, owned by the late copper heiress Huguette Clark, sold at Christie's last May for $27 million.
Hess could not immediately be reached for comment.
