"I'm in a good place in my life right now," Jennifer Lopez says. And why not? It's amazing what a reported $300 million net worth will do for a girl. That's enough to salve any wound, whether it's making "Gigli," dating Casper Smart or maybe nip-slipping at last week's Golden Globes.
Not bad for someone who got her start as a Fly Girl on TV's "In Living Color."
What's interesting about Lopez, 45, is that — outside of any other female celebrity besides perhaps Oprah — she understands the value of diversification. J.Lo has built a sprawling empire, from music and fashion to TV, movies and much more.
"I love what I do, and I'm just one of those people who has a lot of energy and can work very long hours," Lopez says. "If I'm inspired or passionate about something, I don't really think about time."
Not all of her enterprises are hits, of course. Still, she keeps plugging away. Take a look at just some of the things J.Lo is into.

Despite your assumption that it was canceled three years ago, "American Idol" is still on the air, and Lopez is in one of the judges' chairs.
The ratings for the season 14 premiere earlier this month were down 32 percent from last season. She also serves as chief creative officer for NuvoTV, an English-language cable network aimed at Latinos, and is a producer on the moderately successful ABC Family show "The Fosters."

Jeer all you want at the lack of box office for "Parker" and "What to Expect When You're Expecting."
Lopez is still in demand on the big screen, and she has three films scheduled to hit this year, including Friday's MILF thriller "The Boy Next Door." She's already made her mark as the highest paid Latina actress ever, beginning in 2001 with "The Wedding Planner," and should continue to be A-list for years.

Her smash 1999 album, "On the 6," introduced J.Lo to the world. Her latest, last summer's "A.K.A." moved just 33,000 copies the first week, according to Billboard, and at year's end, had sold 71,000.
But, the singer has reportedly inked a deal for a multiyear residency at Las Vegas' Planet Hollywood for a cool $350,000 per show.

The star often turns heads on the red carpet, so expanding into the fashion world seemed like a no-brainer.
Her Sweetface line, launched in 2003, was criticized initially for being "overpriced and cheaply made." It was scrapped in 2009, and Lopez later admitted that "my name was stamped on things that I didn't believe in." In 2011, she launched a line at Kohl's. Sales were initially good, but the store later moved away from celebrity lines, and all that J.Lo has on the clothing racks now are leftovers on clearance.

Other J.Lo ventures include a successful fragrance line, BodyLab diet supplements and a Puerto Rican restaurant she opened in Pasadena in 2002 and shuttered 6 years later. In 2013, she got into the cellphone biz as the CEO of a short-lived Verizon division catering to the Latin market. She holds a tiny stake in the Miami Dophins; an NFL franchise, even a middling one, is almost always a solid investment.
Her 2014 memoir, "True Love," debuted at No. 5 on the nonfiction best-seller list and features revelations -— like how she watched "Something's Gotta Give" 10 times to get over her split with with husband No. 3 Marc Anthony.
