A couple of crooks who allegedly tried to rob a Dunkin' Donuts on Long Island are in a "hole" lot of trouble thanks to an undercover cop who boldly foiled the stick-up.
Andrew Berger, 27, demanded cash at the sleepy donut shop around 9 p.m. Wednesday, cops said. But the detective, who had been tipped off, followed the thief into the store and interrupted the heist — prompting Berger to point a black BB gun at the officer, law-enforcement sources said.

Ducking for cover, the cop popped off several shots but missed, sources said. A team of undercover officers burst into the doughnut shop and arrested Berger "within seconds."
Matthew McGurk, 25, the alleged getaway driver, was busted in a car outside the shop. The men are tied to a string of robberies at 12 gas stations and Dunkin' Donuts shops in the area since Dec. 22, cops said.
At his arraignment, Suffolk County Judge Pierce Cohalan told Berger, "You're lucky to be alive," before setting his bail at $1.2 million cash or $3.6 million bond.
McGurk's was set at $600,000 cash or $1.8 million bond.
McGurk appears to fancy himself an outlaw: He was wearing a "Heisenberg Labratories," T-shirt — a reference to the hit crime show "Breaking Bad."
But the two men are hardly TV-worthy antiheroes — both are heroin addicts who had been living in a motel in Patchogue, a law-enforcement source said.
"I robbed the gas station so I could buy heroin . . . I just wanted money. I don't want people to think I wanted to shoot a cop, " Bergen told cops, according to a criminal complaint.
Craig McElwee, a lawyer representing McGurk, claimed his client had nothing to do with the robbery.
"He was apprehended in his car a short distance away. My client denies being actively involved," McElwee said.
Berger declined to comment.
