The Madagascar series of films is one of the most popular franchises of the last decade. The four films of the series have grossed over $2 billion worldwide, and established a legion of fans of all ages the globe over. Now, the popular series is spinning off into the streaming circuit with the December 19 release of All Hail King Julien, a Netflix Original.
The show follows the adventures of the titular lemur, played by Sacha Baron Cohen in the movies but voiced here by Danny Jacobs, in what could basically be described as a prequel to Madagascar (ie, the Zoosters have yet to arrive). The series also features the voice talents of Henry Winkler as Uncle King Julien and Andy Richter as fan favorite Mort.
In the Decider exclusive clip above, King Julien learns that his reputation in the jungle definitely proceeds him … although some of the details about him have been ever so slightly exaggerated.
