A madman went on a bloody rampage and was shot dead by a state trooper after he knifed two passengers on a casino bound tour bus in Connecticut, cops said.
The suspect was on the Queens based Dahlia Travel and Tour bus when he stabbed two passengers around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday on the I-95 between exits 13 and 15, according to police.
The tour bus left from Chinatown.
The bus driver pulled over near a construction zone and flagged down a state trooper who was on duty at the site, said police.
He approached the suspect and told him to drop the weapon but he refused and began to "cause injury to himself," before the cop fatally shot him, cops said.
NBCconnecticut.com reported one of the victims was also struck by a bullet but it wasn't immediately clear if the trooper directly shot him or if it ricocheted off the pavement.
Connecticut State Police said that is still under investigation.
The suspect was acting aggressively and attempted to approach the officer with the box cutter, according to official reports.
The two victims, a man and woman, were treated for their wounds at the scene and rushed to Norwalk Hospital but their condition wasn't immediately known, police said.
The suspect, who has not yet been identified, was rushed to the same hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival, cops said.
It wasn't immediately clear what sparked the violence.
I-95 was shut down for the investigation and reopened around 6 a.m. according to the Norwalk Police Twitter feed.
