City facing multi-million lawsuits over subway derailment

The MTA and the city face dozens of lawsuits stemming from a May subway derailment in Queens that sent 10 people to the hospital and trapped about 1,000 people underground.

Since the F train went off the rails, 29 people have filed notices of claim.

They include Monifah Kidd, a Queens woman who plans to sue the city for $5 million because of her bad dreams about the derailment — as well as severe injuries she says she suffered.

Kidd filed a notice of claim with the MTA and city comptroller less than a week after the May 2 derailment.

The notice says she "sustained severe and protracted and permanent injuries to her neck, back, head and suffered psychological trauma, mental anguish, emotional distress and suffers from nightmares of the experience to date."

Another Queens rider, Helon Mioh, is suing for $10 million and says she's been left disabled.

Lawyer Frank Lomuscio, of Little Neck, also plans a lawsuit after suffering pain in his neck, back, legs and arms and filed a notice of claim on July 23.

But one straphanger who filed a claim has since decided not to sue.

Taiser Hussein had filed a notice of claim but told The Post she has since decided to drop it.
