No one seems more surprised than Larry King that his Ora.tv show, "Larry King Now," received its first News & Documentary Emmy nomination for Outstanding Discussion and Analysis.
"After receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award, I didn't think I was eligible for an Emmy," King told me. "I thought I could retire, but I couldn't. Three years later, it's gratifying to know that you can be 80 years old and contribute content worthy of the Academy's consideration."
"Larry King Live" ended on CNN in 2010 after 25 years on the air. King returned two years later with "Larry King Now," which streams Monday through Thursday at 5 p.m. on Ora.tv and Hulu.com.
The show received its News & Documentary Emmy nod for the self-explanatory episode, "Head Trauma in the NFL," in which a panel of experts discussed the hot-button issue.
"The 'Head Trauma in the NFL' episode was important to me," King says. "I am proud to be making a difference and raising awareness."
Season 3 of "Larry King Now" premieres Monday with guest Anna Paquin ("True Blood").
