A celebrity dermatologist, found dead in his Florida home on Sunday, suffered from depression – exasperated by comparisons to a TV character on "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," sources said.
Dr. Fredric Brandt was "devastated" over comparisons to a nutty plastic surgeon, played by Martin Short, on the hit Tina Fey-created Netflix comedy, according to Miami Herald entertainment columnist Lesley Abravanel.
Short's outlandish character, Dr. Franff, serves at the beck and call of a vain socialite, played on "Kimmy Schmidt" by "30 Rock" alum Jane Krakowski.
Brandt, 65, had been "really depressed," just before his death, sources told the Herald.
Page Six first reported the passing of Brandt, who treated stars such as Madonna, catwalkers like Stephanie Seymour and socialites the included Jane Holzer.
Bradt's body was found by his housekeeper inside his Coral Gables home.
