Military deserter ‘spit’ at cops

A military deserter from Tennessee was charged Thursday night with spitting at cops.

Cody Michael Lee, 23, was among a group of protesters who marched from Union Square hoping to enter Times Square during the New Year's Eve festivities. They were stopped at 38th Street and penned behind a fence.

Lee allegedly spat at the cops surrounding them and was charged with obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. The prosecutor quoted him admitting to a cop as he was being driven away, "I had it coming.''

The ADA also said Lee had deserted the armed forces.

Bail was set at $5,000 bond or $1,000 cash.
