An image grab taken from a video allegedly broadcasted on December 17, 2014, and which appeared to have been posted online via an unofficial Islamic channel called "Islamic Sham" on YouTube on December 31, shows women identifying themselves as Italian nationals Vanessa Marzullo and Greta Ramelli. The two pretty Italian aid workers abducted by Islamic State fighters last August appeared in a New Year's Eve video to plead for their release.
"We are in big danger and we could be killed," Vanessa Marzullo reads from a script while Greta Ramelli holds a handwritten sign with the date Dec. 17.
"We supplicate our government and its mediators to bring us home before Christmas."
In the 23-second video, the once idealistic 20-year-olds appear significantly thinner and are dressed in black chadors, with only their faces and hands exposed.
