Gordon Ramsay heads to the Applelgate River Lodge in Applegate, Ore., home to some of the most stunning scenery in the Pacific Northwest. Joanna and Richard David built the lodge themselves, but it's gone down the toilet since their divorce. Ramsay has to get the bickering couple — and their sons — to stop fighting long enough to come up with a game plan.

Thackery (Clive Owen) gets the top surgeon's job at Knickerbocker Hospital in New York City, but he can't hire the No. 2 he wants. Instead, he is forced to hire Algernon Edwards (Andre Holland), an African-American educated in London and Paris. Edwards does not have an easy time of it at The Knick, but wants to learn what he can from the daring, condescending Thackery.
