Judge refuses Aereo’s request to resume business

Aereo took an arrow to its already hemorrhaging heart Friday when a federal judge struck down its emergency request.

The video streamer's last-gasp plea, filed Thursday evening, claimed it was "figuratively bleeding to death" and asked that it be allowed to resume business.

The New York-based company also complained of "incurring staggering costs without accruing any revenue" and of a need "to resume operations in the immediate future."

Aereo has been on life support since a Supreme Court ruling on June 25 sided with broadcasters that the Barry Diller-backed disrupter had been illegally stealing their signals.

The case then returned to US District Court in Manhattan, where the parties were charged to resolve it in a manner consistent with the Supreme Court decision.
