After two days of debate, Jets coach Rex Ryan named Mark Sanchez his starting quarterback for this Sunday's game in Jacksonville.

Ryan benched Sanchez last week against the Cardinals after the four-year starter threw three interceptions. Greg McElroy replaced him and led the Jets to their only touchdown.

Ryan said Monday he was going to talk to a variety of people in the organization before making a decision. He told the team this morning that he was sticking with Sanchez. A team spokesman informed the media.

Ryan will have a press conference at 11:45 Wednesday morning.

Sanchez has struggled mightily this year, but McElroy is an unknown commodity. Sunday's game was his first NFL action.

Then there is Tim Tebow, who is recovering from broken ribs. It is unknown right now if he will be available to play Sunday.

If Tebow is healthy enough to play, the question now becomes who is Sanchez's backup – McElroy or Tebow? And do they keep all three active quarterbacks active for the game, something they have not done this year.
