A former New York Knicks player, who now shoots hoops for the Atlanta Hawks, was stabbed—along with his wife and another woman — inside the 1 OAK club in Manhattan early Wednesday, police sources said.
Chris Copeland, 31, was arguing with his wife inside the infamous Chelsea hotspot on West 17th Street when the suspect got involved and pulled out a blade around 4 a.m. and stabbed him in the abdomen, police sources said.
He then turned the blade on the basketball player's wife, Katrine Saltara, and stabbed her in the breast and arm before turning it on his female companion, police sources said.
The suspect, 22, was taken into custody at the scene.
Copeland was rushed to Bellevue Hospital with his wife, and the other woman was treated at Lenox Hospital for the stab wounds, authorities said.
They are all expected to survive and charges were pending, cops said.
It wasn't immediately clear what sparked the violence.
Copeland played 56 games for the New York Knicks from 2012 to 2013.
His current team, the Hawks, played the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclay's Center on Saturday. The Hawks lost 99 to 131.
They're set to play again tonight at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Barclay's Center.
