Stalking conviction overturned in nude-photos case

A West Village man who says he only took nude photos of his neighbor to prove she was "enticing'' him by prancing around naked has had his stalking conviction overturned.

Norman Venson, 61, pleaded guilty to the rap in 2012 after admitting to even passing the photos to his 137 W. 12 St. co-op board to try to prove that the 33-year-old woman across the courtyard was a neighborhood sex menace.

But an appeals court recently ruled that Venson's conduct didn't rise to stalking, a crime for which he had accepted a conditional discharge.

His actions "fail to provide reasonable cause to believe that [he] engaged in the type of intrusive and repetitive conduct that the anti-stalking statute was aimed to prevent," the court wrote in its ruling.

Venson's decision to pass along the nude pix may have been "reprehensible," but legally, it didn't make any difference, the court said.

The woman, who asked not to be identified, has since moved to Maryland and works as a public-relations executive.

"I was really traumatized," she told The Post.

"I don't have anything else to say other than it's very troubling to know that," she said of the legal decision.

Meanwhile, Venson, a retired charter sailboat captain who uses the first name Patrick, insisted to The Post that he was the true victim in the case.
