Thief shows off Islam tattoo to clerk after robbing store

This robber didn't have a prayer.

A Queens thief robbed a cellphone clerk and then begged for more dough by playing the religion card — telling him, "We're both Muslim,'' and lifting his shirt to show he had "Islam'' tattooed on his chest, law-enforcement sources said Tuesday.

"We're supposed to support each other. Please do not call the police,'' the armed suspect, who wore a black knitted skullcap over his dreadlocks, said to the worker at One Eleven Wireless and More in Jamaica, a source told The Post.

The robber can be seen on store surveillance video yanking up his shirt to bare his chest and tattoo in a bid to prove he wasn't lying.

But the worker was adamant that he didn't have any more money, sources said.

The robber asked him for phones, and the employee said he didn't have any.

The suspect, who was holding a black revolver, then shook hands with the employee — and even asked, "Can I come back again?'' before fleeing, the source said.

"He's a nut,'' a source said. "But he's also a perp — he had a gun."

Cops said he appeared to be about 35 years old, 6 feet tall and 220 pounds. He was wearing a green bubble jacket, camouflage pants and black sneakers.
