Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker was the top name in a new poll of Iowans likely to vote in the country's first presidential caucuses next year.

Walker — who has not announced his candidacy but has been steadily building a political operation — led the GOP field with 15 percent of the vote, according to the Bloomberg Politics/Des Moines Register Poll.

Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky took second with 14 percent. And Mitt Romney took third with 13 percent, despite announcing last week that he will not run.

The poll was conducted Monday through Thursday of last week; Romney announced Friday that he was dropping out of the race.

Mike Huckabee placed fourth, with 10 percent of those likely to vote calling him their favorite.

Hillary Clinton was the runaway favorite among Iowa Democrats, with 56 percent calling her their top choice. Elizabeth Warren took second with 16 percent.
