On the surface, Lisa, 28, and Daniel, 34, seemed like a good match. They both share a love for cheesy pop — he's fond of Dave Matthews Band, and she's a big Backstreet Boys fan — and their pet cats.
But once Lisa, a lawyer, and Daniel, a manager for Broadway plays, got past the small stuff, they discovered that they didn't have much in common on bigger issues like religion and their future plans.

She said:
I immediately noticed Daniel has really nice hair and a great smile. He seemed a bit nervous at first, but we had a good conversation about where we're from and our favorite bands: Mine is Backstreet Boys; his, Dave Matthews Band.
I've been to Sotto 13 twice, so I made some recommendations. We ordered the prix fixe option so we could split a pizza, two small plates and a side.
As we continued to talk, I picked up on how different Daniel and I are. He likes running. The only time I run is when I'm late. He mentioned attending a religious institution in his neighborhood. I'm not religious whatsoever.
Daniel was nice and intelligent, but our differences couldn't be ignored. We didn't make future plans, but I wish him all the best.
He said:
I found Lisa smart, cute and spunky. She is also a huge Backstreet Boys fan, which was pretty charming.
She'd been to Sotto 13 before, but it was my first time. We shared a pizza, French toast and lamb sausage. I could see why Lisa is a repeat customer.
We're both cat owners, which was a relief. I know so many people who are allergic. I came to the conclusion that her cat is much better behaved than mine.
Lisa's work as a non-profit lawyer is impressive. It definitely seems like she's doing something really important and noble with her law degree, which I admire.
Great conversation aside, there wasn't any romantic chemistry. I had fun with Lisa, but I wasn't interested in another date. We said goodbye and left the good times at the restaurant.
