A Belgian tourist accused of stabbing a fellow clubgoer with her stiletto heel at The Gansevoort hotel's rooftop bar last August failed to show in court Monday — and an arrest warrant was issued.
A defense attorney for Marie Thys, 25, said she'd returned to Belgium with the consent of the prosecution.
But Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Denise Dominguez said the defendant didn't have the court's permission and issued a bench warrant.
"Your client is charged with a crime in this country and she specifically chose to leave the jurisdiction while there's a pending criminal matter," Dominguez said. "A warrant is ordered."
Thys allegedly got into a drunken spat with Amanda Keisoglu and her friends inside the Plunge Rooftop Bar and Lounge on Aug. 24, 2014. Keisoglu was celebrating her cousin's bachelorette party at the posh night spot when a brawl broke out, and Thys allegedly plunged her stiletto into the dental hygienist's upper thigh.
Prosecutors said they were awaiting DNA testing on Thys' high heel to determine whether it was the weapon that left the bloody wound in Keisoglu's leg.
Keisoglu has slapped the Gansevoort with a $5 million lawsuit. Thys is charged with felony assault but still has not been indicted.
