Wall Street bank Jefferies Group had a rough quarter — swinging to a loss from a profit a year ago — and it's not even Sage Kelly's fault.
The firm reported a loss of $92.4 million in the three months ended Nov. 30 — compared to a profit of $109.9 million last year.
Investment banking revenue fell 24 percent to $316 million during the period, due, according to CEO Richard Handler, to "unsettled markets."
The bank was beset by reports on bad behavior in October and November, when Kelly's wife, Christina di Mauro, claimed in court papers — during a custody battle amidst a heated divorce — that Kelly participated in coke-fueled, four-way sex romps that included a client.
Di Mauro later rescinded those claims after settling with her husband for an undisclosed amount and getting joint custody of the children.
Kelly, who was the head of health care investment banking, hasn't been seen at the bank in months.
He has consistently denied his ex-wife's claims.
While Handler said that some investment deals were postponed, it was because of "dampened capital markets" during the three-month period and not anything else.
"The impact from the unusual publicity in late October and November was immaterial," the firm added.
Jefferies has denied any wrongdoing or that its execs are involved in drug use.
In one unusual incident, Handler and Executive Chairman Brian Friedman took drug tests with Kelly's colleagues. The tests came out negative, according to a company memo at the time.
The bank also recorded a 73 percent drop in revenue from the year-ago period from trading of distressed debt — or borrowed money from companies that are the most likely to default or are already bankrupt.
"It's a bit odd that they were so transparent about distressed trading in the release when we still made money," one Jefferies insider told The Post.
"Handler loves this group," the person added.
Shares of Leucadia, the company that owns Jefferies, fell 2.5 percent Tuesday to $21.04.
