In wake of controversy, CTPartners loses a client

Sully, bar the door!

CTPartners, the embattled Wall Street headhunting firm led by CEO Brian Sullivan, has lost a client in the wake of the allegation that it fostered a "boys club" atmosphere that engaged in sexual discrimination, The Post has learned.

The allegations, from a former female employee at the Midtown Manhattan firm, have prompted Wellington Management, an institutional investor with about $900 billion in assets, to sever ties with CTPartners, said one source close to the situation.

The Post reported exclusively on Dec. 8 that the former employee had filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission alleging that at a boozy company meeting at Sullivan's Florida home several male executive stripped off their bathing suits and cavorted naked around the pool and onto the beach.

The scene was corroborated by three other CTP employees.

It is not known how large a client Wellington was for CTP — a firm that rang up $46.5 million in revenue last quarter, according to regulatory filings.

Derek Creevey, CTP's chief marketing officer, declined to comment on any client activity but said, "There's been no material impact in our business from [The Post's] reporting."

On Tuesday, The Post, after reviewing some company e-mails, reported that CTP Vice Chairman Burke St. John approved a plan to bypass human resources and reassign his returning-from-maternity-leave assistant to less-senior executives because of "the baby thing."

The assistant also claims her overtime pay was reduced with the move.

The company has denied any wrongdoing and says the sexual discrimination claims are without merit.

Creevey also said that the assistant wasn't demoted and that the reduction in OT was part of firm-wide cuts.

David Sprows, a spokesman for Wellington, didn't return a call seeking comment.

CTPartners' stock rose 2 cents to $15.10 on Tuesday.
