Jessie James Decker — the country singer wife of Jets wide receiver Eric Decker — had no problems this week sharing that her husband was depressed with how his first season in New York has gone, and she certainly wasn't going so sit back and let a former Jet criticize him.
The one-time reality television star appeared to shoot back at former Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards and others who have criticized Decker for signing with the Jets.
"So for all the people that have accused Eric of choosing money. You don't know anything. He was never asked, called or offered anything from the Broncos! But we couldn't be happier to be in NJ and NYC," she posted on the social media website Instagram. "God has a plan for everything :))"
She later deleted the Instagram and corresponding tweet.
Edwards, two years removed from his playing days, was critical of Decker on Tuesday while appearing on SNY's "SportsNite."
"At the end of the day, in his situation he chose to go for the money as opposed to a contender," Edwards said. "He's getting his money's worth."
Eric Decker has been open about his situation with the Broncos, saying from Day 1 they never made him an offer. He ended up signing a five-year, $36.25 million contract with a guaranteed $15 million to join the Jets. He has two wins and four touchdown receptions to show for his first season in green.
"People sometimes don't understand the free agency process," Decker said in a conference call with Minnesota reporters Wednesday. "It's not like Denver was calling my agent to get me back."
A couple of weeks ago James Decker defended her husband against "haters" who ripped her husband on Twitter after he asked fans to tweet why they loved the Jets.
Because the Jets were 1-7 at the time and their season was basically over, Eric Decker received many sarcastic responses than love for Gang Green.
So James Decker fired back at the fans, which made her a target as well, resulting in her temporarily deactivating her Twitter account.
