BuzzFeed has signed a lease for 194,000 square feet at 225 Park Ave. South, The Post has learned.
Asking rent in the building is $85 a square foot — and up.
The news Web site received $4 million in tax incentives from New York state as part of the move, which was tied to the creation of 475 jobs, and the retention of current positions over a five-year span.
The Empire State Development agency stepped in after BuzzFeed looked at potential new headquarter locations in other states, sources said.
Last year, The Post reported that BuzzFeed was moving to a 57,691-square-foot two-year sublease from Tiffany at 200 Fifth Ave., knowing it would be bumped in the fall of 2015.
In the meantime, the popular site had to take care of immediate overflow needs by signing a 43,000-square-foot short-term sublease for the sixth floor from AppNexus at the nearby 40 W. 23rd St., where that company has more than 200,000 square feet on floors 2, 5 and 6.
Brian Waterman and Andrew Peretz of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank represented the building. BuzzFeed was repped by Steven Marvin of Olmstead Properties.
None of the parties returned calls for comment.
