Maria Menounos attacked with tire iron in NYC

Maria Menounos and her glam squad were attacked in New York early Thursday morning.

Menounos, 36, and her team were leaving an airport and were "crawling" to get on the Van Wyck Expressway when someone threw a tire iron at the car's back window, reports E! News.

"If felt like something out of a movie," Menounos said. "I heard an explosion and I started screaming, 'Everyone down, we're being shot at. Everyone down!'"

No one was hurt. She believes either the assailant planned to rob them and ditched the plan or an individual threw the tire iron at the car and fled. "We didn't know if we were being targeted," she said.

Menounos shared the gripping details on her Instagram account. "Omg this just happened," she captioned an image of the damage. "Huge explosion thought we got shot… now we think someone approached the car in traffic and blew out our window."

She also posted a picture with the iron they discovered. "This is what they used!!! This is so crazy!!! We are all freaked out," she captioned a second image.

The reality TV star also also tweeted that her driver has never had anything like this happen "in 10 years of driving… even driving Snoop! I just died laughing."
