A creepy, sexy robot that bewitched the art world this year has found a home in mega collector Eli Broad's nearly 2,000-piece collection.

In March, artist Jordan Wolfson unveiled an animatronic robot at David Zwirner gallery that dances—and looks like "a curvaceous, scantily clad woman covered in dirty… wearing a witch mask."

Reactions ranged from "terrifying" and "unnerving" to "will haunt your dreams."

On Tuesday, the 81-year-old billionaire Broad and his wife, Edythe, made a surprise announcement that they'd acquired the extremely edgy piece, "Female Figure," for their in-the-works museum in LA.

The news came at an upscale Le Cirque luncheon for the museum in advance of next year's opening.
