A man was fatally stabbed and his wife was badly injured when a home invader attacked them in Staten Island, police said.
The suspect was already inside the couple's Huguenot home on Venus Place and Marcy Avenue around 9:50 p.m. Sunday, when the couple walking to the home, they were confronted by the madman, according to police.
The suspect stabbed Peter Gialluisi,67, repeatedly in the face and hand before turning the weapon on his wife, cops said.
She was stabbed multiple times in the head, neck and back, authorities said.
Police said they didn't know what sort of weapon was used.
The 66-year-old woman was rushed to Staten Island University North where she was listed in stable condition, cops said.
Her husband was pronounced dead at Staten Island University South, according to police.
Police sources said a man walked into a Staten Island Hospital with defensive slash wounds on his hands. He was taken into custody for questioning, but has not yet been charged with a crime.
The suspect is described as a bearded man about 25-30 years old, cops said.
Police did not recover a weapon at the scene and said that the suspect is not believed to be a relative.
