Carrie Bradshaw's addiction to designer shoes is paying off for Jimmy Choo.
The luxury shoemaker — a favorite of Sarah Jessica Parker's character on "Sex and the City" — said on Tuesday it plans to list at least a quarter of its shares on the London Stock Exchange next month.
The designer label is looking to expand in Asia and other new markets and plans to open 10 to 15 stores a year. It opened its first location in London in 1986 and now has 120 stores worldwide.
The IPO of the brand — the brainchild of Malaysian-born designer Jimmy Choo and co-founder Tamara Mellon — will test consumers' appetite for iconic stilettos that start at $595 a pair.
Peter Harf, non-executive chairman of Jimmy Choo, is "confident that shareholders can expect strong growth and cash flow in the years to come," according to statement.
Jimmy Choo is owned by private investment firm JAB Luxury, which acquired it in 2011.
