Kanye West compares celebrities to Civil Rights pioneers

Kanye West gave a shocking deposition in a case involving an attack on photographer Daniel Ramos at LAX in July 2013.

In the deposition obtained by TMZ, the 37-year-old rapper compares celebrities' struggle to Civil Rights activists in the '60s.

"I mean in the '60s people used to hold up 'Die N—er' signs when my parents were in the sit-ins also," West said.

The alleged victim's attorney, Nate Goldberg, flat out asks West if he equates the historic struggle of African-Americans in America to celebrities in present day? "Yes, 100 … I equate it to discrimination. I equate it to inequalities," said Kim Kardashian's husband.

"We, as a group of minorities here in L.A., as celebrities have to ban together to influence guys like this—guys trying to take the picture, guys trying to get the big win, guys trying to get the check."

Goldberg also grilled the rapper about his famous song about the shutterbugs, "Flashing Lights." He goes on to quote a line, "Till I get flashed by the paparazzi, damn, these n—as got me." West becomes offended by the lawyer's language. "You have to ask for a hall pass," said West. "You can't say the 'n' word around me. It offends me because you're a white person saying 'n—a.'"

West had one thing to prove during his wacky deposition: "I'm the smartest celebrity you've ever f—king dealt with. I'm not Britney Spears."
