‘DWTS’ Maksim, Kirstie Alley no longer friends because of J.Lo

Once close companions, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kirstie Alley are no longer friends, the former "Dancing with the Stars" fixture revealed Tuesday.

The former dance partners' falling out may have to do with Chmerkovskiy's new romantic relationship with Jennifer Lopez—whom is best friends with Leah Remini, a former Scientologist.

According to People, Alley called Remini a "bigot" for her scathing comments about the church after she left it in 2013.

For that reason, Chemrkovskiy, 34, says Alley, 63, can't associate with him anymore.

"She stopped getting along with me," he said on "Watch What Happens Lives" Tuesday. "We had a great relationship … But I got a message now that I am associating with other people that she can't be associated with, I am no longer to be spoken with, and sorry, but it is what it is."

Despite having to cut off his friendship with the "Looking Who's Talking" star, Chmerkovskiy still thinks "the world of her."

"I am not judging people by their religion," he explained. "I'm Jewish. I don't really believe in science fiction, but whatever. It's sad that we've gone through so much together, and I feel like I've helped her. And this is where we're at now. But I think the world of her, and I wish her the best."
