George Clooney isn't done going after the Mail Online just yet.
"It's just fun to slap those bad guys every once in a while, knock 'em around," Clooney, 53, recently told Variety. "I'm used to it after all these years. But the thing that bothers me is how much the Daily Mail is now bleeding into American press and becoming a source for some pretty legitimate newspapers. So that's the thing that worries me."
"The Monuments Men" star recently slammed the Mail Online after they published a story claiming his British lawyer Amal Alamuddin fianceé's mother, Baria, was against the wedding because of religious reasons. "To exploit religious differences where none exist, is at the very least negligent and more appropriately dangerous," Clooney wrote in an op-ed for USA Today.
Although the Mail Online issued an apology, Clooney refused to accept, penning another op-ed that said, "I thank the Mail for its apology. Not that I would ever accept it, but because in doing so they've exposed themselves as the worst kind of tabloid."
The actor also noted he's been choosing his battles — like which humanitarian crises to spotlight or which falsehoods to clear up.
"That's why you pick your fights at a tabloid. Every day they write things that aren't true, but every once in a while they write something that is actually dangerous to your family, and it's probably not true. And that's the one you pick," he said.
Clooney popped the question to the 36-year-old beauty, who officiated her cousin's wedding in Italy last week, in April after dating less than a year.
The pair were hoping to keep their engagement quiet, "but they can't hide the fact that they are very happy," a source told Page Six.
The couple is planning to wed in Venice in September, deciding against marrying at Clooney's beautiful Lake Como estate because it doesn't offer enough privacy.
"I'm marrying up," he quipped.
