The Rangers' first home game as the defending Eastern Conference champions will be against the Maple Leafs.
On Saturday, the NHL released the home openers for all 30 teams for the 2014-15 season, and the Rangers' will open the home portion of their schedule on Sunday, Oct. 12.
The Islanders will get their home season started one day earlier, when they take on the Hurricanes. That game will be the second of a home-and-home with the Hurricanes, with the first match in Carolina on Oct. 10.
The Devils will be the last NHL team to play a home game. Their home schedule commences on Saturday, Oct. 18 against the Sharks.
The complete schedule is slated to be released at 4 p.m. Sunday, but parts of the early-season schedules for the local teams already are known.
The Rangers will begin their season in St. Louis on Oct. 9 and travel to Columbus on Oct. 11. The Islanders will start their campaign in Carolina, while two of the games on the Devils' season-opening road trip are at Philadelphia on Oct. 9 and at Florida on Oct. 11.
