Gorgeous Prince George has grown "an extra fat roll" during his tour of Australia and New Zealand, says his mom, the Duchess of Cambridge.

The Duchess made the comment about the chubby 8-month-old during a tea party with students at iconic Australian landmark Ayers Rock on Tuesday.

17-year-old Shannon Hunt was amused by Kate Middleton's response when she asked if she was missing Prince George while he stayed in Canberra, the capital city of Australia, with his nanny.

"He's been changing so much while we've been away," the Duchess said to Hunt.

"Kate also said he grew an extra fat roll while they're away," added the 17-year-old. "She said he can get a bit grumpy on the long flights and she'd love to have him with her here."

It seems the Duke and Duchess were in quite a jovial mood Tuesday, joking with the group of students when they asked for a photo with the pair.

"Well, if you don't mind having a photograph with us!" the Duke quipped.

He continued the humor when Erin Keeley, 17, remarked that she visited Buckingham Palace last summer and was disappointed not to see the Queen.

"That's because she knew you wanted a selfie," the Duke teased. "She ran away!"

The pair later posed for pictures in front of Ayers Rock, admitting how awkward they felt standing in front of so many cameras.

"So what shall we talk about?" Prince William joked to his wife of nearly three years.

"So, that's something there…" he continued, as they staged a conversation which was later described as appearing "endearingly awkward."
