FDNY battles blaze at One57 tower

It took some 50 firefighters more than an hour to extinguish a loading dock fire at the under-construction One57 luxury tower Saturday night.

The fire started in plywood and other debris, and damaged the loading dock and some of the scaffolding, according to Deputy Fire Chief Joseph Carlsen.

There were no injuries in the blaze on West 57th Street, Carlsen said.

The 75-story tower is due to open in August and has suffered several construction snafus since breaking ground some four years ago.

Most memorable was during Hurricane Sandy in 2012, when a crane partially collapsed in high winds and dangled by cables for eight days. Another minor crane mishap a year later caused brief evacuations of nearby residents.

Apartment sale prices have topped $90 million at the property, the city's tallest residential tower.
