The planned extension of the No. 7 train to the far west side of Manhattan is facing delays, the MTA says.
The final date for the $2.4 billion project — paid for by the city and extending the line to 34th Street and 11th Avenue — is being moved from June to late summer or early fall, officials said.
Former Mayor Bloomberg championed the project. He took a trip on the yet-unopened line shortly before leaving office.
The tracks have been laid, but problems installing the station's high-rise and incline elevators are pushing back the project date, officials said.
A presentation will be made to the MTA Board on the mega-project Monday.
Also discussed will be the findings of a new study looking at the impact of bus-service cuts to the Bronx's Co-Op City in 2010.
The No. 7 line extension is not the only major MTA project not making deadline. Officials recently said the massive project to bring the LIRR to Grand Central is also behind schedule.
