Retired cop says he was denied pension cash — because NYPD thinks he’s too fat

A retired police lieutenant clams he was denied bundles of pension cash because the NYPD thinks he's too fat.

Thomas Cantore — who is 6-foot-2 and 315 pounds — claims he is entitled to a "tax-free accidental disability pension" worth 75 percent of his final salary.

But in his $10 million Manhattan federal lawsuit filed Wednesday, the Staten Island man says the NYPD gave him a lesser package worth 50 percent of his salary because of his "obesity."

The 18-year-veteran says he was 295 pounds when he was hired in 1989, 305 pounds when he was promoted to sergeant in 1995 and 310 pounds when he was bumped up to lieutenant in 2004, making the weight issue a "ruse" to deny him proper benefits.

Cantore's lawyer could not be reached for comment. The NYPD declined to comment.
