YANKEES: Nova has been tremendous in his past four starts, throwing 28 1/3 innings while allowing five runs (1.59). Hughes' six-inning, three-run effort in an 8-4 loss to the Dodgers on Thursday represented his first quality start in six starts, but it hardly helped his recent slide. In his past four starts, he's lasted 17 innings while allowing 17 runs (9.00).

BLUE JAYS: Rogers is coming off a six-inning, one-run performance against the Red Sox, which was a much-needed confidence boost for the 28-year-old who had been roughed up in each of his previous three starts, totaling 22 runs allowed — 20 earned — in just 12 1/3 innings (14.59). Buehrle has been hittable this season — opponents have managed a .273 average against him — but more often than not, he's limited the damage.

STAT SO?

YANKEES: Nova's been roughed up against Toronto this season, lasting just seven innings in two starts, giving up 11 hits and six runs (7.71). Toronto has hit .407 against him.

BLUE JAYS: Buehrle has been brutal against the Yankees in his career, going 1-10 with a 6.28 ERA.
