R.A. Dickey told The Post yesterday he's "disappointed" to be the pitcher who surrendered Ichiro Suzuki's 4,000th hit.

"Now, I can hold it. I can hold being disappointed about it and also hold that it was a monumental achievement for somebody that I really respect. I can hold both," Dickey said. "But I'm disappointed."

The Blue Jays knuckleballer and former Met, who allowed a first-inning single to Ichiro on Wednesday night to mark the career accomplishment, explained he's disappointed simply as a competitor "cause I felt like I could get him out. It was a good pitch. He does what he does and tip your hat. Which I did."

One of Ichiro's game-used uniforms from Wednesday's milestone night will be given to the Hall of Fame.
