A man was killed yesterday in a tragic elevator mishap at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, authorities said.
Inunion Tursunov, 25, got stuck between floors when power went out shortly before 10:30 p.m. at the Flushing Avenue site, according to police.
Cops were called for a person stuck in the elevator, but police sources say Tursunov tried to escape on his own.
He managed to open both sets of elevator doors, but fell about four or five stories through a gap, said sources, who added that darkness may have contributed to the fall.
Tursunov died shortly after at Brooklyn Hospital.
The Bensonhurst resident worked at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
