Van crashes into Park Slope deli

A minivan crashed into a Park Slope deli early today, authorities said.

It plowed into the Deli and Smoke Shop on Fifth Avenue near 9th Street about 6:15 a.m., according to an FDNY spokesman.

A shop employee who was behind the counter at the time of the crash was injured as well as the driver. Both were treated at Methodist Hospital for minor injuries, the spokesman added.

"The whole front is gone. I was working at the deli. Thank God I'm okay," said Nasr Alshd, 29, who works in the deli. "There was a lot of glass and damage to the store. The car was inside the store."

The longtime Park Slope shop has been there for more than 20 years, Alshd told The Post.

It was not immediately clear what caused the accident.
